About The Flag Standard
The standard didn't exist. So we built it.
Girls flag football is one of the fastest-growing sports in America. The players deserve a platform that takes them as seriously as they take the game.
"Rankings should be earned on the field — verified through film, respected by coaches, and accessible to every athlete regardless of budget."
The Flag Standard was built to solve a real problem: the best girls flag football players in the country had no independent, credible ranking system to point college coaches to.
Other platforms rank athletes based on subscriptions, camp attendance, or connections. We rank based on film. Coach nominations. Verified performance. That's it.
We cover all 50 states because the game is growing everywhere. A standout player in Kansas or Alabama deserves the same visibility as one in California or Texas.
Our Principles
What we stand for.
01 — INTEGRITY
No pay-to-rank
Rankings cannot be purchased. Profiles are free. The only path to the list is performance verified through film and the respect of your peers and coaches.
02 — ACCURACY
Film first
Every athlete in our database has verified film. We watch before we rank. This gives college coaches a tool they can trust and athletes a credential that means something.
03 — ACCESS
National scope
We cover all 50 states from day one. The game is growing faster than any single region can contain, and the best players deserve national visibility regardless of zip code.
The Story
Why now.
Girls flag football is on a trajectory unlike any other sport. All 50 states now have high school programs. The first NCAA championship is on the horizon. College coaches are actively looking for talent — but they had no centralized, credible resource to find it.
The Flag Standard launched in 2026 to be that resource. Independent, film-verified, and built with the input of the coaches who watch these athletes compete every week.
The inaugural national rankings drop July 15, 2026. This is the ground floor. The athletes who build profiles now will own the top spots when the list goes public — and will carry that credibility forward as the platform grows.
This is not a marketing database. It's a standard.
FAQ

Everything you need to know about The Flag Standard, how rankings work, and how to get your profile on the list.
For athletes
Completely free. There is no cost to submit a profile, no subscription required, and no premium tier that gives athletes a ranking advantage. Rankings are earned through film and coach nominations only.
You need your basic information (name, school, state, position, graduation year) and a film link — Hudl, YouTube, MaxPreps, or any publicly accessible highlight or game film. That's it.
Rankings are determined by a combination of coach nominations from our national coaches poll and film review scores from our evaluators. Submitting a profile before July 10 is the first step — profiles not submitted won't be considered for the inaugural list.
Profiles are reviewed within 5–7 business days. Once your film is verified you'll receive a confirmation email. If your profile needs more information we'll reach out directly.
Yes. We rank underclassmen separately and track athletes across their high school careers. Getting on the platform early builds your profile over time and gives college coaches a longer evaluation window.
Rankings & verification
Rankings combine two inputs: coach nominations from our national coaches poll (active high school coaches who vote on the top players they've seen), and film scores from our evaluators who review every submitted profile. No subscriptions. No camp attendance. No politics.
Our evaluation team reviews every submitted film link before a profile goes live in the database. We look for identifiable game or practice footage that confirms the athlete's position, performance level, and the information on their profile.
The inaugural rankings drop July 15, 2026. After the initial release, rankings will be updated seasonally as new film comes in and coach nominations are collected throughout the year.
Both. The inaugural list will include a national overall ranking and state-by-state rankings. We cover all 50 states — if a state has active high school flag football programs, athletes from that state are eligible.
For coaches & colleges
College coaches have two access tiers. The free version includes athlete name, position, state, graduation year, and ranking. The full-access version (paid) includes film links, contact information, seasonal stats, and full profile details. We want to make it easy for every program to discover talent — and easy for serious programs to go deeper.
Fill out the coaches poll at the link Jordan Ellis sent you, or reach out directly at info@flagrankings.com to request the poll link. Nominations close July 10.
Profiles should be submitted by the athlete or their parent/guardian. You can absolutely share the submission link with your players and encourage them to submit — that's the best way to make sure your program is represented.
